The Latin Patriarchate has 68 Parishes in the Holy Land (which includes Jordan, Palestine, Israel and Cyprus)
- 32 in Jordan
- 15 in Palestine
- 15 in Israel
- 6 in Cyprus
There are some 340,000 christians in this whole area (less than 2% of the population) comprising approx 184,000 in Jordan, 100,000 in Israel and 54,000 in the whole of Palestine (inc Gaza). There are only some 27,000 in the combined areas of Bethlehem, Beit Sahour and Beit Jala.
This number includes all Catholic Latin, Melkite, Maronite, Syrian, Armenian, Chaldean and Coptic groupings as well as all Orthodox Churches.
Assistance is given to the Parishes
- through small projects to maintain their Churches (and give employment to local people),
- to support Parish activities and
- to provide facilities to assist the clergy fulfil their pastoral roles.
