Volunteer with us

We would love you to join our team of volunteers, whether you can commit a regular amount of time or occasional help. We know people lead busy lives but just a little bit of your time will help us to further our mission, providing more support to Christians who need it most in the Holy Land.

FHL overheads are kept as low as possible so that the highest proportion of donations received can go directly to beneficiaries. Based in Kenilworth, in the Midlands, FHL’s UK office boasts the equivalent of just over two full time employees. The charity is supported by a nationwide team of volunteers, without whom it would be impossible to do our work.

Some of the ways you can volunteer with us:

  • Be an advocate and help spread awareness through talks, parish groups, prayer groups etc.
  • Fundraise for us - run an event or complete a sponsored challenge
  • Help out at an event
  • Work for us  (see below)
  • Run an olive wood stall
  • Sell Christmas cards

If you can help us on a more structured basis, how about one of these two roles?

Pilgrimage Liaison

FHL is seeking a volunteer with enthusiasm and commitment to preserving Christianity in the Holy Land to initially identify pilgrimages from across the UK and then to work with others to engage with as many organisers as possible. We need someone to scour the web to keep an eye out for pilgrimages which are being organised across the UK, and to talk to the people organising them. Our aim is to make contact with organisers while they are planning their pilgrimages so we can introduce them and their pilgrims to FHL, possibly organising visits to our projects.

This role can be carried out from home but may involve occasional meetings or visits to the Kenilworth FHL office.

If you would like to put your faith into action  by introducing pilgrims to the challenges facing Christians in the Holy land and how FHL are giving hope to vulnerable families, please express an interest by emailing office@friendsoftheholyland.org.uk, or call Karen Baxter, Office Manager, on 01926 512980.

Applicants will be asked to provide the names of two referees.
