Friends of the Holy Land Tenth Anniversary

Nearly 200 people joined Archbishop Suheil Dawani, the Episcopal Archbishop in Jerusalem, and John Wilson, the Archbishop of Southwark, at Temple Church in London to mark 10 years of Friends of the Holy Land activities in the UK and the Holy Land.

The Temple Singers provided a stunning addition to the service.

This was then followed by a service in St Andrew's Metropolitan Cathedral, Glasgow, led by Archbishop Suheil Dawani. He was supported by the Most Reverend Philip Tartaglia, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Glasgow and representatives of the Church of Scotland’s World Mission Council’s Middle East Committee were also present.

The final event was an ecumenical service was led by Archbishop Suheil Dawani and Cardinal Vincent Nichols at Coventry Cathedral. It was followed by FHL's largest ever National Conference at the nearby Welcome Centre, where lunch was provided before hearing from FHL patrons, supporters and beneficiaries about how they have stood firm for the last 10 years and for their plans to come.

The overriding purpose of these events was to mark the anniversary of our founding by praying together for our mission.

Please see the 10th anniversary section for more details, photos and reflections given on the day.
