To ensure we can reach across the entire West Bank at this critical time, we have expanded our operational team, recruited new team members and opened a small office in St Andrew's Episcopal Church Ramallah. 

Nader Issa Ghneim joined us in November 2024 to lead our West Bank Operations , visiting families, parishes and projects to ensure we are making the most effective, direct impact. 

Nader Ghneim (North)

Nader is a dedicated and experienced professional, blessed with a Master's Degree in Democracy and Human Rights and a Bachelor's Degree in Biblical Studies. He's been equipped through extensive training in project management, advocacy, and conflict resolution.

For over 25 years, Nader has faithfully served in education, project management, and community  development. His experience spans various local and international organizations, as well as the private sector.     He has a proven track record of stewarding grants, prayerfully developing project proposals, and leading human rights training programs, all in pursuit of justice and compassion

Nader brings valuable experience working hand-in-hand with church-related organizations, parachurch ministries, and civil society partners, seeking to be a light in the world. He's passionately committed to serving the needy, empowering individuals and communities through God-given education, heartfelt advocacy, and sustainable development initiatives. This includes nurturing livelihoods through education, supporting small businesses, and implementing transformative IT projects. His calling is to see lives flourish and communities thrive, reflecting God's abundant love and grace in every endeavor.

Two new part-time recruits work from the Ramallah office: Dema Isayed, based in Zababdeh covers the northern region up to Jenin. Meanwhile, Latifa (Lulu) Aranki, (the mother of Layan Nasser who you may have read was held in detention for 10 months) is more concentrated in the Ramallah, Birzeit and surrounding areas.

Dema Boutros Khoury (North)

Dema is a team member of the FHL Holy Land team serving in Jenin. Dema coordinates the FHL work in the Jenin area. She believes that humanitarian work is a mission demanding commitment, compassion, and passion. Through her efforts, she aims to amplify the positive impact of Friends of the Holy Land, serving the community and empowering the Christian population to remain steadfast and live with dignity and pride in the Holy Land.

At FHL, Dema is instrumental in coordinating tasks in Jenin and the surrounding area. Her responsibilities include supervising employment workers in the job creation project, meticulously organizing their paperwork, and overseeing their tasks. She expertly coordinates patient requests with the organization and liaises with pharmacies to ensure the timely delivery of monthly medications.

Furthermore, Dema diligently follows up on humanitarian aid cases, which involve conducting visits, processing surgical requests, and managing all related documentation, including official invoices. She also plays a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of submitted projects

A key aspect of her work involves coordinating with priests in the Jenin area, collaborating to serve their parishes and meet the unique needs of their communities.

Lulu Nasir (North)

Lulu holds a Bachelor and a Master’s degree in Business Administration. With 28 years of extensive experience at the Arab Bank, she concluded her career there as a Purchasing Manager. Driven by a deep sense of compassion, Lulu joined Friends of the Holy Land to support families in need through meaningful and practical assistance. She finds profound fulfillment and peace in witnessing the joy and relief her efforts bring to those we serve.

Nancy Wahhab (Bethlehem)

Nancy was born and raised in Gaza. She moved to the city of Bethlehem to study at Bethlehem University and got a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She worked as an accountant in EPHPHETA Bethlehem, and working in an accountant’s office, went back to the university to get a second bachelor's degree in Religious studies. She is married and has five children.

Nancy has been working for the FHL as an office manager for the last seven years since 2014. 'I enjoy working for FHL as I feel this work is an engine of change. Meeting new people and helping those in need makes this job wonderful for changing people’s lives for the better and satisfying my inner ambition to help others.'

Our Holy Land Committee in the North:

Fr Dr Fadi Diab (North)

Born and educated in the West Bank, Fr Fadi is the Rector of St Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Ramallah and St Peter’s, Birzeit and Chair of the Holy Land Committee.

Fr Fadi's ministry includes midweek youth service, Bible study, Women’s group, Youth group, Sunday school, an Acolyte programme, a new choir and a Celebrating Family program.

Fr Fadi provides leadership and pastoral support for St Andrew’s school, the Episcopal Vocation and Training Centre and his sister Parish in Birzeit with a developing elderly home project, St Peter’s.

His vision includes supporting the Christian community spiritually and socially, strengthening Christians in the Holy Land to enabling them to stay in the area and to continue witness to the Gospel of Christ.

Fr Fadi is a Founder of the Youth Connection for Peace Programme, a member of the Palestine-Israeli Theologians Forum, a member of the Palestine Advisory Council of the Episcopal Peace Fellowship and co-author of Kairos Palestine document and board member on Kairos-Palestine. He has presented workshops at the World Council of Churches on the theological understanding of the Palestine Israeli conflict and spoken widely at churches in the USA. He visits parishes in the UK regularly.

Fr Remon Haddad (North)

Father Remon Haddad was born in Amman, Jordan, on July 2, 1989. His path to the priesthood began in September 2003, leading to thirteen years of dedicated formation within the Latin Patriarchal Minor and Major Seminaries. He received the Sacrament of Priesthood by the grace of God on June 23, 2016.

Following his ordination, Fr. Remon served for four years as the Assistant Priest (Vicar) at the Visitation Parish in Zababdeh, followed by a year of service at the Holy Family Parish in Ramallah. Since August 15, 2021, he has served as the Parish Priest of Aboud, where he has been a spiritual leader for the past four years.

Beyond his parish duties, Fr. Remon holds significant responsibilities within the wider Church. He is the Director of the Catechetical (Christian Education) Office in Palestine and previously served as the Deputy Spiritual Guide for the "Youth of Jesus’ Homeland," the Christian Youth movement in Palestine.

Known for his "big heart," Fr. Remon is deeply committed to bringing transformative change to his church and community. He works tirelessly to develop and support his people—especially the youth—in every aspect of life, striving to empower them both spiritually and personally to reach their full potential.

Nuha El-Far Shaheen (North)

Nuha is a member of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Ramallah, Palestine, where she serves on the vestry. She is also a board member of the Evangelical Home Association in Ramallah, and the FHL in the Holy Land. Nuha holds a bachelor’s degree in Management and Accounting from Birzeit University and has extensive experience teaching Scripture and other courses at the Episcopal Evangelical School in Ramallah.

In addition, she has over twenty-five years of professional experience in the banking sector in Ramallah, with particular expertise in anti–money laundering, compliance, and risk management. She was the first certified anti–money laundering specialist in Palestine, accredited by the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS) in the United States.

Nuha earned a master’s degree in Public Affairs Theology (Theology and Contemporary Context in Palestine and the Arab Levant) from Bethlehem Bible College. Her academic and professional interests center on the modern Palestinian context, marked by profound challenges and urgent needs. A committed advocate for justice and equality, she seeks to empower Christians to engage meaningfully in the pursuit of hope, freedom, and just peace as an integral part of daily life.

She is currently an EDS Fellow at Episcopal Divinity School in the United States, participating in the Emerging Women Leaders from the Global South program (2025–2026), which aims to strengthen women’s leadership within their churches and communities.

Janet Ghannam (North)

Originally from Lebanon, Janet now resides in Zababdeh with her husband, Yousef, and their five children. With a Diploma in Education, she began her career as a primary school teacher in Beirut and has spent the last nine years serving as a dedicated nursery school director.

 

Janet is currently completing her final course in Theology at the Bethlehem Bible College. Her commitment to her faith is evident through her extensive involvement at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Zababdeh, where she leads Sunday school, women’s meetings, and summer camps, while also serving as the secretary of the church. A talented pianist, Janet accompanies all church services and finds great joy in her hobby. She is deeply driven by a spirit of service and a desire to help anyone in need.

Our Holy Land Committee in Bethlehem:

Laila Asfoura (Bethlehem)

Laila Asfoura is the Founder of AHDAF Charitable Organisation, Executive Director of Laila Tours and Travel and a Founder member of the local Committee of Friends of the Holy Land. She serves as the Executive Director of St. Martha’s House. She has been working in the travel industry since 2005 and holds a Masters’ Degree in Tourism from Bethlehem University. As a Palestinian Christian, in the Greek Orthodox tradition, Laila is an active member of the local community.

George Sa'adeh (Bethlehem)

George Anton Sa’adeh was born in Bethlehem in 1961. He is married with two daughters, Marian and Christine, who has died. He was educated at the Terra Santa School in Bethlehem and in 2003 graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in Aerospace Engineering.

George is Headmaster of Shepherds High School in Beit Sahour, was Deputy Mayor of Bethlehem from 2005 – 2012, is a member of the Russian Orthodox Emperor Society in Bethlehem, a member of the Israeli-Palestinian Parent Circle Forum for Bereaved Families since 2013 and a founder member of the local Committee of Friends of the Holy Land.

Husam Wahhab (Bethlehem)

Husam was educated at Terra Santa College in Bethlehem and graduated from Bethlehem University with a BSc in Business Administration. He established his accountancy practice in the City in 1994, after 8 years’ experience in Abu Dhabi and the US.  He holds a Masters’ Degree in Accounting and Professional Consultancy from the US and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Palestine and the US. Husam lectures in accountancy in the Business Administration Faculty at Bethlehem University and is the accountant or auditor for many local businesses. He is a Board member of the Palestinian Association of Certified Public Accountants, an Examiner for the Board of Auditing Professionals, President of Catholic Action, a member of St. Catherine’s Parish Council and a volunteer member of the FHL Holy Land Committee.

Our Holy Land Committee in Jerusalem:

Fr. Rami Asakrieh OFM (Jerusalem)

Fr. Rami is a Franciscan Brother, the parish priest of the Latin church of St Saviour in Jerusalem, the largest parish in that area.  “I believe that my work as a parish priest includes several aspects, not only that of administering the sacraments. Mine is work of welcoming and supporting the weakest.” 

Lina Rabadi

With more than 30 years of experience in the development and humanitarian domain, focusing on education and protection, Lina has dedicated her life to supporting individuals and strengthening communities. Her work has always been closely connected to people’s daily realities, with a focus on dignity, care, and long-term impact.

Beyond her professional journey, Lina has been actively engaged in community service and voluntary work, including serving as former President and current member of the Board of the YWCA, contributing to initiatives that support women, families, and social cohesion.

As a mother of four and a devoted member of the Church, she brings a spirit of compassion, responsibility, and quiet leadership, with a genuine commitment to serving others and contributing positively to the life of the community.

Dr Usama Salman

A Christian born and raised in Jerusalem. My passion and commitment toward Christianity and the development to strengthen the Christian community in the Holy Land in particular the city of Jerusalem.  In the last years, this passion became my main interest in my studies, research’s, work, advocacy and awareness towards the Palestinian Christian community culture and heritage, religion, economy, social diversity, and politics to prevent the defacement of the Christian presence in the Holy Land. .

Tony Sabella

Tony is a Holy Land guide in Jerusalem and guest lecturer who has spoken in Israel, Palestine and in the US.

Sylvia Amer

Sylvia Amer is an academic specialist and educational consultant based in Jerusalem, with over 20 years of experience in administration, academic development, curriculum reform and educational programming. She currently serves as a Consultant and Head of Academic Affairs at Colleges Des Freres Jerusalem and has extensive experience in curriculum support, academic advising, and educational exchange initiatives. Sylvia has a Masters in Leadership and Management. She is married and a proud mother of six children.  She is an active member of the church a member of the Parish Choir.
