Christmas at St Martha's House Christmas was made truly special at St Martha's House, Bethlehem as the ladies were joined by a number of special guests. These included Greek Orthodox Bishop Vindictos, the Patriarchal Vicar from Bethlehem, Archbishop's Vicar Father Rami Asakrieh, and the parish priest of the Parish Church of Saint Catherine, Father Issa Thaljieh, alongside Father George Jacaman. General Manager Nader Ghoneim also joined in the celebrations. The day was filled with the singing of hymns and religious songs, creating truly meaningful connections between the ladies and their guests who also shared Christmas lunch and exchanged gifts. The delight on the ladies’ faces as they welcomed the bishop, esteemed priests, and the House's general manager into their midst was noted throughout the day and was incredibly touching for all to witness. The presence of the day's guests served as a poignant reminder that, especially during this season, they are deeply loved and cherished, even as they miss the closeness and gifts that typically come from family. St Martha's House for widows in Bethlehem continues to be an important project for Friends of the Holy Land, and thanks to the support of all those who have donated over the year, even during increasingly dire times, they were able to find much joy and comfort in moments such as these.
