Friends of the Holy Land held a special ecumenical service simultaneously in Temple Church, London and the Co-Cathedral of the Most Holy Name of Jesus, Jerusalem on Tuesday 20th May.  The event featured a livestream broadcast between the two churches, attended by over 700 people across the two locations.

This event marked the 1700th anniversary of the Council of Nicaea (325 AD)  bringing together Christian leaders and communities for a profound moment of unity and prayer for peace, during this time of brokenness and conflict.

His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa led the service in Jerusalem alongside other church leaders and delivered the homily - click here to read the transcript

In London, Cardinal Vincent Nichols led the service in Temple Church with senior leaders of other churches participating or attending. The service included singing from the Magnificat Custody Choir in Jerusalem and the Temple choir in London.

We were also privileged to receive a personal message of encouragement from His Holiness Pope Francis sent shortly before his death.
