Join us at 2 pm in Glasgow Cathedral (St Mungo’s or High) for an ecumenical service with a simultaneous link to the same service in the Church of St Catherine, Bethlehem.

Local Church and Municipal Leaders in both locations will coordinate in leading the joint linked service.

The Christian communities in the two cities of Bethlehem and Glasgow, have enjoyed a Municipal Twinning Agreement since 2007. We will gather together in worship for a joint ecumenical service of Readings and Carols which will be simultaneously broadcast between the two locations.

Especially in this year of challenging and dangerous times, we remember and are renewed by the Hope that was born in Bethlehem more than 2,000 years ago.

The combined service will be led by local leaders from the Church of Scotland, the Catholic Church and the Scottish Episcopal Church in Glasgow and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem, The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem and the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem in Bethlehem.

There will be a reception in the Cathedral supported by the Lord Provost’s Office after the service along with a chance to see the ’50 Faces of the Holy Land’ exhibition.

The service is free to attend and walk-ins on the day are most welcome, however, to assist with our planning for the reception catering, please register.
