Parish Ambassador

Our Parish Ambassadors help promote our work and tell their local community about our mission. This could involve talking to your priest of minister about us, distributing our newsletters, prayer cards, fundraising materials and olivewood catalogues in your parish. Or perhaps you might arrange for one of our Advocates to visit your church to speak about our work. You may even like to involve your parish in our prayer group or fundraise to support our projects.

Are you comfortable speaking in front of groups of people? We are looking for people who are willing to raise awareness of FHL and its charitable works, by giving talks  and appeals at church services/meetings, other charitable organisations, and Christian schools, that are aligned with FHL’s ethos. We can provide the words, we just need your voice!

Friends of the Holy Land are looking to increase income and donations, to enable us to support more Christians in the Holy Land. If you are willing to spare a few hours to work on your own with a group to raise money, we'd love to hear from you. We can help with suggestions of ways to fundraise from cake sales to ceilidhs.

Do you have access to the internet to do some online research? If so, we need you to help us. Friends of the Holy Land are looking to grow our Christian networks and update our records for key contacts. Keeping our database and records up to date is essential, to raising awareness of FHL across all Christian communities. We are looking for people who are willing to look up information on the internet, either to find out details of new contacts or check existing contacts, for example looking up priest names for churches to update our records.

Pilgrimage Liaison

We are seeking a group of Pilgrimage Liaison Volunteers across the UK who can help Friends of the Holy Land connect with pilgrimages to the Holy Land.

We have split the role into 2 parts:.

1. Pilgrimage Researcher: We need you to look out for mentions of pilgrimages taking places across your diocese (through word of mouth or using internet search engines), find out who is organising it and let us know by filling in the details on a spreadsheet. Our aim is to connect with every pilgrimage going to the Holy Land and ensure that every pilgrim knows about us.

2. Pilgrimage Engagement: to speak to the people organising the pilgrimage using the contact details we provide. We are looking to encourage more pilgrimages to visit our projects while they are in the Holy Land and also to engage with us when they get back. We will provide information for how to approach the pilgrimage operators and leads as well as what to say to them about us.

If any of these roles look interesting to you or you'd like to find out more, give us a call on 01926 512980 or email us on [email protected]. We'd love to have a chat and welcome you on to the team!
