The crisis continues. In Gaza, 820 people are living in two churches, sheltering from bombs. In the West Bank, 80% of Christians have lost all their income.

During the 40 days of Lent, we invite you to do whatever you can support our friends in the Holy Land. They need you now more than ever.

Take action during Lent. Here’s how:

Write to your MP - urge them to call for a ceasefire

  • Find your MP’s contact details by typing in your postcode at
  • Write an email or letter to your MP in your own words, asking them to call for an immediate ceasefire.
  • Ask your MP to take action on your behalf by requesting a meeting or writing a letter about this to the Foreign Secretary, or raising your concerns as a question in parliament.

Take time to pray for the conflict to end

Remember that Christ still reigns over all the world and that in Him we have eternal hope. Asking Him to intervene is an important part of our role.

Talk to your clergy members

Your church leaders will be well aware of the war gripping the Holy Land. Ask them about supporting the Christian community during Lent and propose some ideas.

  • Ask them about fundraising in the parish. (Here are some fundraising ideas to get you started.)
  • Ask them if your parish could use our Lenten Reflections together (download them or ask us to post you a copy). And/or could your church host an evening of prayer for the Holy Land?

Donate to our Hope & Healing Fund

We have set up a special fund to help the Christian community in the Holy Land endure this crisis and become more resilient.

  • In this ever-changing situation, the fund will continue to meet emergency physical and emotional needs identified by our on-the-ground contacts.
  • The fund will also help the community sow the seeds for a more sustainable future - whenever a ceasefire is achieved.
  • Could you add £40 to the fund - that’s £1 for each day of Lent? Click here to donate.
